Eddie Chen

Born and raised in the hot city of Houston, Eddie moved up north to the cool city of Boston to pursue his undergraduate study of biology at Tufts University. His favorite topics at school included developmental biology, cell signaling, and endocrinology, leading him to join the Rajagopal Lab in pursuing these interests. He continues to independently assist with Dr. Shipkovenska and Dr. Zwick with their respective investigations while preparing for his own journey into medical school.

What drew you to your field?

Stem cells are just so cool- they are like unpolished marble that you can turn into beautiful structures when given the right care and conditions!

What do you do when you’re not in the lab?

I love going outdoors for fishing, long-distance biking, and exploring new places. I also like being a homebody and enjoy staying indoors to build models/Legos and cooking together with my girlfriend.

Describe Rajagopal lab culture in 3 words:

Very Awesome People!
